The Turtle
Us

I have always respected and been intriqued with Native American culture.  Their beliefs are deeply rooted in their culture. They believe everything is sacred from the largest mountain to the smallest plant and animal. A lesson can be found in all things and experiences and everything has a purpose.   Not only do they love, honor, and respect The Creator and the earth, but also every living thing.

The turtle represents many different things in various tribes.  In many of them, it represents Mother Earth and protection. In other tribes, it symbolizes
strength, female power, fertility, long life and perseverance. I connect with this symbol on many levels.  Protecting my children in every way is the most important purpose as a mother.   This includes protecting them from being discouraged and/or molded into something they are not.  I want to teach them to manage their traits so that they do not lose them, but able to bless others with their many special qualities.  I want them to follow the paths that make them the happiest.

Mother Earth, well that is easy!   I am a nature freak/tree hugger who loves taking care of the only world we have.

~So that’s my story behind the turtle, and I am sticking to it.
